DR. MIN KYUN KIM, ND, LAc
Since I was a child when I would get sick or cuts and scratches from falling, my grandma would always use herbs grown around the house to treat me. It was not only medicine but also my daily food. I’ve always liked seasonal vegetables and herbs grown in the countryside. My whole family would gather to make and enjoy the herbs and vegetables for traditional Korean food and desserts.
Natural herbs impacted not only my life but my whole family. My grandma helped herself from infertility issues utilizing natural herbs. She had 4 children after that.
This helped spark an extraordinary interest in living organisms which led me to study biology for my undergraduate. I loved studying physiology, biochemistry, immunology, and anatomy, but I wanted to help people who were suffering from illness. So I began my journey to study medicine. I finished a Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. It came naturally to me to learn Traditional Eastern Medicine because it was already a part of my life. During my career as an Acupuncturist, I wanted to learn more about the Western aspect of natural medicine. This led me to pursue a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University.
