DR. MIN KYUN KIM, ND, LAc

Since childhood, whenever I was sick or had cuts and scratches from playing outside, my grandmother would treat me with herbs grown around our home. To me, these herbs were not only medicine but also part of my daily food. I developed a deep appreciation for seasonal vegetables and countryside herbs, as my whole family would gather to prepare traditional Korean meals and desserts with them.

Natural herbs impacted not only my life but also my entire family. My grandmother even overcame infertility with the help of natural remedies and later gave birth to four children.

These experiences sparked my lifelong interest in living organisms, leading me to study Biology for my undergraduate degree. I loved exploring physiology, biochemistry, immunology, and anatomy, but I wanted to go beyond academics and help people suffering from illness. That desire guided me toward medicine. I earned a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. Learning Traditional Eastern Medicine felt natural to me—it had always been a part of my life.

As my career as an Acupuncturist progressed, I became eager to expand my knowledge of the Western perspective on natural medicine. This pursuit led me to complete a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University.
